Henrico Doctors’ Hospital & the American Cancer Society Co-Sponsor I CAN COPE Cancer Education Program

(Richmond, VA – January 8, 2009) – Henrico Doctors’ Hospital and the American Cancer Society will co-sponsor a class for people with cancer and their family and friends.  The classes will consist of a series of discussions about how cancer is diagnosed, treated and how to cope with the difficult issues that arise from a diagnosis of cancer. Sessions will take place from 6:00 – 7:30 pm on the following dates:

All sessions will take place at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital – Forest Campus, Williamsburg Room, 1602 Skipwith Road, Richmond, Virginia 23229.

The I Can Cope program gives participants an opportunity to share their concerns with others having similar experiences and to design ways to cope with the challenges that arise from a cancer diagnosis.  Guest Speakers include professionals in the field of cancer management.  In addition, videotapes, printed materials, and class discussions provide up-to-date information for patients, family and friends.
